Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our client’s team as a Children’s Home Registered Manager. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of their children’s home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and support for residents. This role requires strong leadership skills, a compassionate approach, and a commitment to empowering children with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership to the care team, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices that align with regulatory requirements and best practices in childcare.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where staff feel valued, motivated, and empowered to deliver outstanding care.
  • Ensure that the individual needs, preferences, and aspirations of each child are at the forefront of all decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with relevant professionals, including social workers, healthcare providers, and educators, to create personalized care plans for each child.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, adjusting as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes for the children in their care.
  • Take responsibility for registering the children’s home with Ofsted and ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including care plans, risk assessments, incident reports, and staff training records.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in Ofsted inspections, demonstrating adherence to regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise care staff, providing guidance, support, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to support the growth and development of team members.
  • Promote a culture of learning and development within the team, encouraging staff to pursue additional training and qualifications relevant to their roles.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working with children in care in a senior role for a minimum of 2 years within the 5 years.
  • Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children with learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of care professionals.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in childcare.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Registered Manager qualification (desirable but not essential).
