Job Summary and Responsibilities

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health/VMFH is seeking an experienced surgical Advanced Practice Provider (APP). The Physician Assistant (PA-C) will join our well established and cohesive team.

We are seeking a PA-C with previous cardiac and thoracic surgery experience.

Position Details:

  • Clinic based position. No surgical responsibilities

  • Post op follow up with cardiac and thoracic patients

  • Coordinate care from discharge to clinic visit

  • Assist with rounding

  • Consults with specialty care

  • Daily review of clinic inbox

  • Order preoperative studies and follow up

  • Wound care

  • Patient calls

  • No Call

  • No Weekends

  • Monday - Friday; Option of 4 or 5 days/week

Department Details:

  • Full spectrum conventional cardiac and thoracic surgery (except VAD, ECMO and transplant)

  • Hospital based – OR, ICU, PCU, surgical units

  • Single hospital practice

  • Traditional sternotomy based cardiac surgeries

  • Minimally invasive mitral valve surgery

  • All lung resection surgeries performed with DaVinci XI robot

  • Robotic foregut and esophagus

  • APP driven service

Compensation Range: $162,000.00 - $212,900.00


Job Requirements

  • Current WA state license PA (or ability to obtain)

  • 1+ years APP cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred

  • CPR/BLS + ACLS – (or ability to obtain) - required
