- Prepares surfaces to be welded, fits parts, welds piping and manifolds
- Cut, grind, drill holes and weld steel to blueprint specifications
- May use plasma cutter to cut I-beams and steel plates
- Tack welds scrap metal to outline to provide jig for assembly
- Position parts in jig and files, chisels, and grinds parts, as indicated, to weld them together
- Anneals parts with acetylene torch to remove stresses of welding
Job Requirements
- Requires 2- 4 years TIG or MIG welding experience
- Will weld carbon steel structural shapes and skid frames and chassis
- Must be able to weld from all angles and positions and possess mechanical aptitude
- Need to be able to lift 50+ lbs
