Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler - 2nd Shift to join our team in Rumford, RI!

The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm.

The hourly rate for this position is $28.83 per hour + $0.60 per hour shift premium.

This position is eligible for a variable incentive program.

Union Position Notice:

This role is part of a unionized workforce. After completing 60 days of employment, employees will be eligible to bid on other union positions within the organization. Positions within the union are awarded based on a combination of qualifications and seniority.

What you'll do

  • Work from prints, method sheets, operation sheets, specification sheets, sketches, and/or verbal instructions to produce parts in accordance with acceptable quality and quantity levels.
  • Set up and operate small lathes, automatic machines, drill presses, lapping machines, pneumatic drill presses, hydraulic presses and marking. Perform hydraulic tests on parts and assemblies as specified on methods and verbal instructions in K Department.
  • Perform a variety of secondary machining operations such as turning, boring, chamfering, counterboring, and general assembly work. Prepare, sandblast components, and run spot welding machine. Setup by others.
  • Use micrometers, Vernier's, vacuum check, monochromatic light, optical flat, stops and guides, plug gages, expansion plugs and indicators. Set speeds and feeds, tools, depth gauges, comparators, and similar instruments.
  • Machine fixtures, jaws, plugs, and similar parts. Change and reset dull tooling as required. Charge table plates with diamond paste following prescribed methods. Repair parts and finished seals as instructed or directed by Supervisor
  • Check own work after first piece check by Supervisor.
  • Report faulty operation, defective material, and unusual conditions to Supervisor.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
