JOB SUMMARY

Assemble and/or install a variety of major and minor subassemblies, parts and systems as directed. Typical parts are engine and transmission assemblies, radiators, transfer cases, auxiliary transmission, axles, air systems, hydraulic steering, electric lines, valves, tanks, brackets, linkages, tinware, etc. May install hitches, bodies, graders, or other equipment where assembly is predetermined.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cut, fit, bend and adjust parts for fit or function as directed.
  • Drill, ream or tap holes for mounting or clearance as directed.
  • Measure wire, tubing or hose paths and cut tubing to length as directed.
  • Fill batteries and accessory grease points as directed.
  • Start up engine, check dashboard instruments for proper function.
  • Assemblies weights up to 10,000 lbs. with appropriate handling equipment such as crane, dollies, etc. provided.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Use of simple arithmetic and measuring instruments such as caliper, scale, and mechanical experience.
