Assembly Worker on 2nd shift assembling steel joist components for welding at Canam Steel Corporation’s Buckeye, AZ manufacturing site. You’ll set up jigs, read shop drawings, position/align parts, and tack weld or clamp assemblies on a production line. New employees can earn 60K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40-50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

2nd Shift
8 hour schedule:
Monday-Friday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
9 hour shift schedule:
Monday - Thursday Night shift - 3:00 PM - 12:30 PM
Friday Night shift - 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Mandatory alternating Saturdays Night shift - 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
*Must be able to work all shift schedules
Assembles steel joist components ready for final welding; performs such work consistent with corporate mission, values and department's financial objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Sets up jigs, reads and interprets shop drawings necessary for such work.
- Moves parts into position.
- Aligns parts.
- Tack welds or clamps parts into position ready for moving along conveyor to final welding area.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, cleaning, metal scrap removal and other joist assembly-related activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- No experience necessary. On the job training provided.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequent communication with others to exchange information.

- Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Manufacturing floor with machinery.
- Exposure to airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
- Use of personal protection equipment is required.
