Buyer
As a Buyer, your mission is to strategically source and procure high-quality, cost-effective parts while fostering strong supplier relationships. This role is essential in driving value, supporting operational excellence, and contributing to Atlas Copco's long-term growth. The Buyer is responsible for optimizing costs, enhancing supplier performance, and ensuring a reliable supply chain that meets the evolving needs of both internal and external customers. This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

You will:

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers to ensure the availability and quality of parts.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers, driving value and savings for the organization.
  • Monitor supplier performance, holding them accountable to KPIs related to quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Planning, Transportation, and other cross-functional teams to align Purchasing strategies with project and operational needs.
  • Develop and implement a strategic approach to cost savings, identifying opportunities across sourcing, negotiation, and supplier partnerships to drive long-term value and achieve annual savings.
  • Processing purchase orders accurately and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Take proactive and necessary actions to accomplish objectives, establishing and maintaining effective communication with all relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and successful outcomes.
  • Conducts periodic supplier visits to assess their service.
  • Carries out necessary follow-up and expediting activities to ensure delivery as required by production schedules.
  • Attend weekly Production meetings with Engineering, Production, Logistics, and Quality.
  • Resolve discrepancies and issues with invoices and purchases orders.
  • Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Experience

5-7 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Purchasing.
Education: Bachelor's degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms while maintaining collaborative supplier relationships. Effective communication skills to engage with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders. Analytical proficiency to evaluate purchasing data, monitor inventory trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Experience with ERP systems and data analytics tools to manage purchasing workflows and assess vendor performance. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. Solid understanding of supply chain principles such as inventory management, lead times, and supplier reliability. Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and on-time delivery.
