EXTEX is seeking a Buyer who is responsible for executing all phases of procurement and planning in support of company objectives, policies, and customer requirements. This role ensures timely procurement of materials, machined parts, hardware, and special processes while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and supporting manufacturing and business needs through effective internal and external communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure raw materials and subcontracted machining, and coordinate special processes to meet product and customer requirements, including obtaining quotes, negotiating pricing, and issuing purchase orders.
  • Ensure purchase orders are accurate and compliant with customer, EXTEX, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review engineering drawings, contracts, and customer requirements to properly flow down material, quality, and special process requirements to suppliers.
  • Plan, schedule, and expedite purchase orders to support manufacturing schedules, financial targets, and quality objectives.
  • Maintain inventory levels and lead times aligned with business needs.
  • Establish and maintain visual management tools and procurement metrics.
  • Support marketing and engineering by providing supplier quotations in line with lead-time guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal value streams to ensure alignment with company, customer, and supplier objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective, professional supplier relationships; communicate supplier promise dates and performance updates to stakeholders.
  • Escalate supplier performance concerns and report issues impacting manufacturing flow.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Generate and maintain procurement documentation, reports, spreadsheets, and supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to support business objectives and promote a positive team environment.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures; support 5S initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Adhere to Kaman's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or equivalent experience.

Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
