Job Summary

Amron International is hiring a full-time Buyer or Jr. Buyer to purchase products for the commercial diving market. We encourage anyone with purchasing familiarity and strong Excel skills to apply.

Our customers include professional divers, special operations forces, state and federal security agencies, and outdoor enthusiasts to list a few. Our Buyers are instrumental in helping us achieve consistently high levels of customer-satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

  • Initiate, confirm and expedite purchase orders that are driven by released Sales Orders and Production Orders, as well as items that are below established Reorder Point (ROP) levels.
  • Interface with all departments internally to ensure adequate communication of delivery concerns or delays.
  • Communicates new product information to the marketing team and informs of discontinued products.
  • Manages supplier relations, negotiations and discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with receiving inspection / quality control personnel and suppliers to help determine the root cause and works with the suppliers to obtain resolution of open issues.
  • Communicates with suppliers, both domestically and internationally, to obtain product and service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule and negotiates with vendors to arrive at best pricing via volume discounts, freight paid, etc.
  • Assists in reconciling purchase order, supplier invoice, and receipt discrepancies.
  • Updates vendor pricing in Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP system and Excel via RapidStart data upload. Revises product descriptions/part numbers for accuracy and builds new item numbers for all vendor accounts.
  • Generates other analysis reports and provides support to for all purchasing department functions as needed.

Qualifications and Required Skills/Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum 1-10 years of experience purchasing similar commodities.

Qualifications


  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization (manufacturing, accounting, engineering, executive management, sales and marketing.
  • Developed analytical problem-solving, numeric and organization skills required. Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic purchasing environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient user of MS Office with working knowledge of Excel calculations; VLOOKUP experience very helpful. Our applicant-screening process includes a basic Excel exercise with practice material provided in advance of interview.
  • General understanding of business procurement and processes and international and domestic shipping terms.

Physical Demands:
  • Employee is primarily seated while performing the duties of this position. Occasional walking, climbing stairs and standing is required. Requires extensive use of a computer keyboard and mouse. May occasionally be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
