The Civil Engineering Analyst will support Electrify America’s Electric Vehicle charging site development pipeline, supplier management, and efficiency goals. The Civil Engineering Analyst role responsibilities include working with internal and external designers to obtain surveys and create preliminary site layouts to support Electrify America’s site acquisition KPIs. As part of site feasibility evaluation, the Civil Engineering Analyst will create test fits and site layouts of EV charging and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). In addition to the site layout, due diligence activities performed will include researching applicable sections of the local building code, zoning ordinance, NFPA, and NEC. The Civil Engineering Analyst may also work with the Utility team to perform power capacity checks in the due diligence phase.
The Civil Engineering Analyst will also support EPC supplier management. This role’s supplier management responsibilities include determining and tracking EPC site assignments, performing quality control review of drawings and due diligence deliverables, developing and facilitating trainings on Electrify America standards, and compiling and presenting performance data for supplier Quarterly Business Reviews. The Civil Engineering Analyst role will own the organization of the trainings, design standards, and other resources for internal team using SharePoint and external suppliers using Procore. Issuing work authorizations to the survey, design, and construction suppliers will also be a function of this role.
In support of Electrify Commercial pipeline the Civil Engineering Analyst will work with the Estimator, Sales Managers, Design Manager, and Permit Manager and external commercial customers to prepare site development materials for commercial opportunities. To support RFP responses, the Civil Engineering Analyst will prepare site plans, estimates, schedules, company statistics, as required by the RFP.
In support of Electrify America’s cost efficiency goals, the Civil Engineering Analyst will collaborate with the Manager of National Construction Strategy, Design Manager, Permit Manager to develop and implement a strategy for reducing site development costs and timelines. This is a cross functional role that requires coordination with Supply Chain, Field Operations Team, and Purchasing Team to ensure qualified cost efficiency measures enhance the efficiency of our construction implementation phase.Facilitate surveys, site plans, and estimates for site acquisition and commercial project pipeline (35%) Develop and lead new EPC supplier onboard training (20%) Develop internal trainings and resource Sharepoint for Site Development Team (10%) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Civil Engineering degree Certificate of competency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software
Reading comprehension skills, specifically the ability to research zoning ordinances and building codes Exposure to land development, specifically small site retail and EV charging stations Ability to learn drafting software and apply design principals and standards to EV charging station layouts Ability to gather, clean, and examine data to evaluate supplier performance Ability to develop training materials for internal and external project stakeholders Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously Data visualization skill - ability to create visualizations of schedule, budget, and other program data using Excel or other software for a variety of audience types Highly computer savvy - skilled in the use of software Analytical and conceptual thinking - using logic and reason, creative and strategic Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Working knowledge of site design engineering principals Minimum 3 years of experience in site development Project Management Excellent understanding of project/program management techniques and methods Experience using AutoCAD Experience using Microsoft Project Experience using Procore or another project/program management software Real estate due diligence and/or site acquisition experience Contract administration experience Experience using SharePoint to create resource pages Experience creating site plans and develop site feasibility reports
