Pay: $38.91 - $60.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option
This is a part time 0.6 FTE Night shift Clinical Education Resource Nurse (CERN) position with the option to job share 1 shift per week in an Acute Care unit at MHC or MHN for a total of 0.9 FTE (Full Time).

Summary:
  • Serves as an onsite education resource to clinical nurses on orientation.
  • Responsibilities

  • Makes rounds meeting with clinical nurses on orientation (or recently off orientation) providing education and clinical support to help ensure provision of safe care and ease the transition from advanced beginner to competent clinical nurse.
  • Collaborates with unit educators and preceptors to assess the learning needs of clinical nurses.
  • Participates in the delivery of new clinical staff orientation. Delivers learning activities related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
  • Serves as a mentor to new clinical staff, participates in evaluating clinical performance of new clinical staff in collaboration with unit leadership.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements


  • Bachelor's in Nursing.
  • Preferred: Current/Recent In-patient, Acute Care, Preceptor and/or Charge Nurse experience.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 2 years of nursing experience. Preferred: Charge Nurse experience.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
