The CNC Machine Operator will operate conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision machined parts used in assembly of power supply units according to department standards and procedures. Given the complex nature of the products, there will be significant hands-on training and interaction with various Magna-Power teams.
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for:
- Operating production machinery in accordance with blueprints and specifications
- Producing the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances using a lathe and milling machines
- Operating metalworking, sawing, and cutting equipment as needed
- Measuring finished parts with precision measurement tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
- Material handling, loads/unloads materials delivered from inventory and stores materials in assigned locations
- Performing routine machine checks to verify lubrication, coolant levels, and overall machine conditions are within operating standards
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area
- Performing in a safe manner at all times while adhering to the Company safety policies. Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times, if applicable
- Performing other related duties as assigned
The education and experience for this position includes:
- High school diploma or GED
- 0-2 years related experience and/or training within a Machining/Manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience operating Mazak Milling Machines, Mazak Lathe, and Fanuc EDM
- Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures, and experience operating machines
- Good mechanical aptitude and math skills
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and tolerance specifications
- Knowledge and understanding of BOMs, and other related manufacturing documents preferred
