Overview

Kadant Johnson is seeking a results-driven and hands-on colleague to join our manufacturing team as a CNC Technician - 3rd Shift at our facility in Three Rivers, Michigan.

The CNC Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining the CNC equipment to its optimum efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect quality of material entering the department and quality of parts being produced
  • Cooperate with other members of the CNC Manufacturing Department to improve quality and boost productivity
  • Make sure all setup and programming information is correct and promptly inform Programmers of any corrections
  • Perform duties assigned by the CNC Supervisor promptly and efficiently
  • Maintains clean, neat work area to minimize accident and injury exposure
  • Conform to all part drawing tolerances, document first-piece inspection on print, and maintain cross checks as instructed.
  • Keeps supervisor informed regarding operations of the department and any problems that arise
  • Safety conscious and identifies areas to be improved upon

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience operating or programming CNC machine tools preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

  • Technical Skills: Good basic knowledge of the standard practice, methods, materials, precision tools, shop math, trigonometry, CNC programming, personal computer operations, fixtures, and cutting tools used in a computerized manufacturing environment.
  • Team Player: Reaches out to peers to tear down walls. Overcomes "we-they" relationships. Earns a reputation for leading peers towards support of what is best for total company.
  • Exercises solid listening and oral communication skills. Interacts effectively with various levels of the organization.
  • Positive "can do" attitude and problem solving skills.

The successful candidate will have a high energy level and an ability to engage with various personality types. The CNC Technician must also have the ability to work independently, plan their own work, read blueprints and follow instructions.
