SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) Engineering Technician.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support CSRR (Common Submarine Radio Room) Testing efforts in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will provide technical evaluation and perform required corrective actions for CSRR in accordance with Applicable System instructions, and DoD and Navy Maintenance Procedures. This position will assist in the disassembly, reassembly, installation and testing of CSRR components; as well as providing support to a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and operation of CSRR in accordance with engineering specifications. Candidates must be willing to travel and provide on-site support for underway submarine operations, which may involve deployments lasting up to three weeks.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with test and evaluation; perform validation/verification of the CSRR systems.
  • Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
  • Assist in development of technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
  • Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
  • Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
  • Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures, review change proposals for equipment impacts.
  • Provide support in the development of technical proposals and provide input on technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.

Qualifications

Education: Completion of Technical/Military Trade School.

Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting and repair/replacement of networking equipment, servers and workstations.
  • Must meet all physical and medical readiness standards for underway contractor support, including the ability to work in confined spaces, navigate steep ladders, and operate in undersea environments."
  • Ideally, you will have or be able to acquire one or more of the following certifications:
    • US Military systems/CSRR experience.
    • US Military Maintenance Training.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Shipyard - Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Use of machine tools and equipment which will require PPE. High probability of working in confined spaces where movement is restricted. Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of <40 lbs.; occasional lifting >40 lbs. Daily use of computers, including use of a mouse and keyboard as well as viewing computer screens. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in highly variable work conditions to include seasonable variations in weather and temperature. Dust, noise and constant activity associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
