- Float Pool technologists have clarity and choice:
- Multiple shift options available to self-schedule up to 8 weeks in advance
- Monthly schedule includes 2 Monday shifts, 2 Friday shifts, and 3 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun)
- This position is eligible for full-time benefits
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience in a hospital setting
Certifications
- ARRT-R (Radiography)
- ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association
Core Responsibilities
- Perform CT exams per physician orders, department protocols, and safety standards.
- Verify patient identity, obtain relevant history, and screen for contraindications (including contrast risk).
- Explain procedures clearly using AIDET and communicate with patients/families with empathy and confidence.
- Prepare and position patients; assist with mobility, safe transfers, and use immobilization/shielding as needed.
- Establish IV access using sterile technique and maintain venipuncture competency.
- Administer contrast media safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions; escalate concerns promptly.
- Operate CT scanners and power injectors safely; confirm proper anatomical markers and scan parameters.
- Optimize technique to achieve diagnostic image quality while minimizing radiation dose (ALARA).
- Evaluate image quality, recognize urgent findings/clinical changes, and involve the radiologist/physician when indicated.
- Complete documentation accurately and on time; manage RIS entries, PACS uploads, and CDs/logs when required.
- Perform, document, and follow through on QC checks, calibration verification, and compliance/audit standards.
- Maintain smooth daily operations by prioritizing workload, supporting cross-coverage/clerical needs, keeping rooms stocked and equipment cleaned/disinfected, participating in on-call, and adhering to regulatory/Joint Commission standards.
