What You'll Do Having or developing an understanding of geophysical survey methods and procedures (in-house training to be provided by ANS) Geophysical field work, including irregular hours and weekends, with up to 80% of time in the field (20% office) Provide quality assurance of geophysical data collected in the field Learn to perform geotechnical field tasks and assist geotechnical projects when available Perform technical analyses, draft portions of geophysical and engineering reports and drawings, and work in a multi-disciplinary environment to fulfill project scopes and responsibilities Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with longer hours required when working in the field Willingness to travel for up to 10 days at a time
What We’re Looking For 1 to 3 years of experience in engineering or environmental consulting MS in Geophysics, Geological Sciences, or Civil Engineering Experience with geophysical field work, ideally including electrical resistivity and seismic methods Working knowledge of geophysical data processing software such as EarthImager, SurfSEIS/ParkSEIS, SeisImager, etc Experience with geotechnical (or other) field work and analyses Experience using GPS (Trimble) equipment and software Experience with QGIS Attained GIT/EIT designation or PG/PE license (or working toward licensure) Project management training and experience Active participation in professional and community societies
Must-Haves BS in Geophysics, Geological Sciences, or Civil Engineering Ability to perform field work in adverse conditions, including carrying up to 50 pounds of equipment, swinging a sledgehammer, etc. Strong communication skills and team collaboration Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Valid US Driver’s License and a reliable means of transportation
Work Schedule Regular hours (8am – 5pm) while in the office Flexible schedule for field travel, including weekends and irregular hours Regular out-of-state travel throughout the lower 48 States for specific projects
