Boston Children’s Hospital is hiring a full-time Environmental Services Floor Care Technician to keep hospital areas clean, safe, and well-maintained through hard-floor care, carpet/furniture cleaning, and emergency response. It’s an onsite daytime role (7:00am–3:30pm) with strong benefits and growth opportunities, plus a $1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible Environmental Services positions.

**Schedule will be 7-330pm Monday through Friday and every other weekend and holidays**
Key Responsibilities
- Performing hard floor care: dust mops, damp mops, stripping, waxing, and refinishing floors; performing spray buffing
- Cleaning carpets and furniture. vacuuming, doing spot removal and shampoos
- Cleaning and maintaining assigned areas including stairwells and elevators
- Operating electric and battery powered equipment for cleaning services and rearranging of furniture/equipment
- Picking up supplies and packing regulated medical waste
- Wearing protective clothing as required (i.e.: surgery dress code, medical waste packing, ribavirin and/or isolation precautions, etc.)
- Responding to floods and other emergencies, drying and cleaning facilities and equipment as directed
- Using equipment to respond to emergency as directed and in accordance with hospital and department protocols to ensure personal and environmental safety is protected
Experience
- A min of 6 months of experience as a floor care technician 1 or equivalent experience
- Ability to operate powered machinery in a safe and effective manner
- The ability to read and understand written instructions in English
- The ability to understand and respond to moderately complex written or verbal instructions in English
- The ability to respond appropriately to instructions, questions or requests for information. Work requires contact with patients and/or visitors which involves courtesy
- The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
