General Summary
Assists with the administration and direction of the Family Practice Residency Program. Provides clinical and administrative services involving primary medical care to patients in a family practice setting.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Assists with reviews of the quality of resident education and makes changes as necessary.
- Provides family medicine primary care services within WMG (this would include THFPC).
- Provides in-hospital patient care and consultations as required. Serves as attending physician on the inpatient service.
- Supervises and teaches residents and medical students.
- Participates in teaching rounds and consultations to other services.
- Assists with resident recruitment and evaluation.
- Participates in research and other scholarly activities.
- Participates in Medical Staff activities as required and/or as requested.
- Observes the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Hospital and the Medical Staff.
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Performs other related duties as identified.

Minimum Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
- Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required
- Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
- Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required
- Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice, or Board eligible. Upon Hire Required or
- Completion of a Family Practice residency. Upon Hire Required and
- Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital. Upon Hire Required
- Teaching skills.
