Position Summary:

The Field Service Mechanic AKA Customer Support Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hoist systems and related components in a service center environment. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to customer service. The technician will ensure high-quality repairs while supporting a positive customer experience both in the shop and during field interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in hoist systems, including motors, brakes, and control components
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, reassemble, test, and verify hoists and subassemblies using diagnostic tools and test stands
  • Document repair findings, root causes, and completed work in service records
  • Follow established service procedures, safety standards, and quality guidelines
  • Identify and report recurring failures or trends to engineering or leadership
  • Provide on-site service, training, and technical support for customers as required

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Minimum 2 years of mechanical and/or electrical repair experience (industrial equipment preferred)
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and component testing
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment
  • Experience with hoists, lifting equipment, or industrial/heavy equipment preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and safe lifting practices preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for field service and customer support
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs, work at heights, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • NO relocation or Per diem offered.
