Job Summary

Performs routine daily, weekly and monthly inspections of fire suppression and control systems within Arconic. Responds to fire alarms and fi res at locations within the facility. Responds to medical emergencies and at times performs drug and alcohol screenings on injured employees. Works with Arconic leadership while on shift to promote a safe work environment for Arconic and their employees. Performs basic emergency care within company environmental considerations according to Blount Memorial Hospital approved policy and procedures and scope of practice. Provides basic technical support to client company Safety and Health as assigned to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standard requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Responds to all emergencies and is able to perform all safety duties and emergency response duties as indicated by Arconic.

  • Able to cut keys and core locks per the site system.

  • Remove lock-out/tag-out locks per Arconic' s procedure.

  • Completes daily, weekly, monthly, annual fire inspections.

  • Evaluates areas for fi re potential prior to hot work activities.

  • Manages department of Homeland Security inventory.

  • Capable of operating all gates.

  • Completes all annual testing requirements per Arconic direction.

  • Supports Arconic environmental response process to spill and issues.

  • Capable of filling in for specific Safety and Emergency Response Specialist (II) duties when necessary.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Current paramedic or emergency medical technician advanced (EMT-A) certificate to practice professionally in Tennessee.

  • Experience - Experience with fire detection systems and fire control systems is preferred. Experience in emergency medicine setting preferred

  • Current paramedic or emergency medical technician advanced (EMT-A) certificate to practice professionally in Tennessee.

  • Valid driver's license, acceptable Motor Vehicle Record as defined by the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) chart, and proof of auto insurance.

  • Must provide and maintain own professional liability insurance coverage.

  • CPR and AED certification required.

  • CPR and First Aid Instructor preferred.

  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)

  • Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database)

  • Knowledge of scope of practice according to State regulations.
