Princeton Quarry - Rogers Group - Princeton, KY

Full Time

Day Shift position with approximate shift times of 5:45 am - 4:00 pm and overtime as needed.

Starting pay for this position will be set at $30/hr. Overall pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and skill set.

Rogers Group Inc. is seeking an experienced individual to fill a position as a HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC for our underground and surface operations in Princton, KY and Cadiz, KY. This position will utilize a service truck to work on site at our Princeton location and will be able to utilize that vehicle to travel and work at our Canton Quarry when needed. This is not a take home truck.

This role requires previous experience as a mechanic working on heavy equipment. The role will be responsible for performing repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of mining and quarry equipment and fixed plant equipment. The applicant must have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working on heavy equipment.
  • Perform heavy or major maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Experience with specialized mining equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, excavators, draglines, drills, dozers, crushers, conveyors, or underground mining
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks.
  • Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
  • Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
  • Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
  • Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment.
  • Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
  • Submit to a Motor Vehicle Record request.
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
  • Weekend work/overtime may be required.
  • Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist, and lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to climb and perform work at heights of 20 feet
  • Ability to successfully complete a DOT medical exam and receive DOT medical card.
  • Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
