Elma Electronic is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Machine Operator (Tap Strip) to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain equipment used to cut metal threaded and plastic insulated tap strip materials to precise specifications. This is an onsite role in our Lawrenceville, GA facility.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate tap strip cutting equipment (manual and automated)
  • Process metal threaded and plastic insulated strip materials to required dimensions
  • Select and run approved machine programs
  • Perform manual setups, including adjusting stops, fixtures, and tooling
  • Monitor machine performance and make routine adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
  • Perform deburring and finishing work as needed
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate complex problems when necessary
  • Complete daily production and material usage records (including shear tags)
  • Verify material usage and report discrepancies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment (5S standards)
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, and quality teams to meet production goals
  • Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures

Qualifications

Working Conditions
  • Standing and walking up to 75% of the time on concrete floors
  • Frequent use of hands for handling and grasping (approximately 75% of the time)
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds
  • Work performed in a sheet metal manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to noise (hearing protection required)
  • Safety glasses required when performing job duties
