What You'll Do
- Set up and operate tap strip cutting equipment (manual and automated)
- Process metal threaded and plastic insulated strip materials to required dimensions
- Select and run approved machine programs
- Perform manual setups, including adjusting stops, fixtures, and tooling
- Monitor machine performance and make routine adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Perform deburring and finishing work as needed
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate complex problems when necessary
- Complete daily production and material usage records (including shear tags)
- Verify material usage and report discrepancies
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment (5S standards)
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, and quality teams to meet production goals
- Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Willingness to learn and operate multiple machines and product types
- Organized and accurate recordkeeping skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
- Experience with manual and automated production equipment is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools is a plus
- Standing and walking up to 75% of the time on concrete floors
- Frequent use of hands for handling and grasping (approximately 75% of the time)
- Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds
- Work performed in a sheet metal manufacturing environment
- Exposure to noise (hearing protection required)
- Safety glasses required when performing job duties
