Position Summary

We are seeking a Machinist to support production by providing machined products to the production floor as needed. The incumbent will provide set-up, back-up when need arises to ensure department productivity.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Machines and/or fabricates parts or tooling for production equipment with or without drawings.
  • Takes jobs from prints; sets up and operates all Thunderline Z. machinery, including CNC and manual lathes.
  • Configures dimensions, pin parameters, holes, offsets, etc.
  • Repairs or rebuilds parts or tooling from production equipment, with/without drawings.
  • Adapts blueprints or sketch parts with changes for C.A.D. Technician to complete updated blueprints.
  • Provides machining as needed for Engineering Department for testing on new products.
  • Creates purchase requisitions for items needed to complete projects and maintain daily machine shop operations.
  • Reads engineering drawings and comprehends basic GD&T callouts.
  • Machines materials such as carbon, aluminum, stainless steels and nick-based alloys. Offline deburring also required.
  • Designs tooling/fixtures as required for efficient productions.
  • Interacts with Sales and Engineering employees in order to provide pricing and lead time estimates on machined parts.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • High school education or equivalent; trade school training desired
  • Solid math skills required: trig and analytical geometry
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • CAD/CAM software experience a must
  • Minimum of two years technical training in machining and fabrication; requires 3+ years of applicable experience
