Position Overview
The Machinist 1/C will perform mechanical maintenance duties in a chemical plant environment at Arkema's Calvert City, Kentucky site. This role requires hands-on industrial experience and technical skills gained through a minimum of five years working as a machinist, industrial mechanic, or equivalent craft. The Machinist 1/C supports safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations through expert maintenance of rotating and process equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Rotating Equipment: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, mixers, and mechanical systems.
- Process Equipment: Remove, install, maintain, and rebuild process equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Tool Usage: Apply proper and safe use of all tools required to maintain equipment in an industrial chemical plant.
- Maintenance Support: Work independently and collaboratively to support daily maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all Arkema and site-specific safety protocols, procedures, and work practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of practical experience in an industrial facility as a machinist, industrial mechanic, or equivalent craft.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing rotating equipment.
- Experience with removal, installation, and maintenance of process equipment.
- Strong understanding of proper and safe use of tools in a chemical plant environment.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a chemical plant environment with exposure to various industrial conditions such as heat, noise, and confined spaces. The role requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, lifting, and working in challenging conditions while wearing required PPE.
