Overview

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs non-technical repairs and maintenance tasks in the NASA HQ building and offsite locations.
  • Responsible for carpentry maintenance and repair tasks, drywall repair, painting, door and hardware repair/replacement, mounting wall fixtures and signage, exhibit display set-up/breakdown, carpet tile installation, furniture assembly/disassembly, and equipment repair.
  • Assists with transportation, moving, and set-up of furniture, equipment, and appliances as directed by the government.
  • Utilizes moving trucks and other provided vehicles to transport and deliver items to designated locations.
  • Responds to service requests and completes tasks according to the priority time frames established in the performance standards.
  • Prioritizes and schedules work orders efficiently, ensuring timely completion of tasks and customer satisfaction.
  • Provides and maintains all necessary equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment required to perform facilities services at NASA HQ.
  • Ensures equipment is properly used, maintained, and stored in compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Repairs and maintains furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed. Assesses damages, performs necessary repairs, and ensure items are functional and safe for use.
  • Receives and fulfills approved boxing and packing requests, ensuring items are securely packaged and prepared for transportation or storage.
  • Provides facilities support services at offsite NASA HQ sponsored events.
  • Sets-up and arrange furniture, equipment, and signage as required for event activities.
  • Adheres to safety protocols, regulations, and procedures while performing facilities services. Maintains a clean and organized work environment, ensures proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials.

QUALIFICATIONS-

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma.
  • Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Must have or be eligible for security clearances. May require occasional travel.
