Position Overview

Pantheon Data is seeking a Marine Mechanical Engineer who will support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components. Perform design reviews, evaluate constructability, help resolve technical issues, and manage information generated through the design and construction phases of multiple and concurrent projects.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering (Mechanical) with a minimum of 3 years of work experience is required.
  • Progressive experience in one of the following marine fields: shipboard auxiliary systems, propulsion systems, HVAC, fire suppression, or other shipboard piping systems.
  • Experience with supporting a major system acquisition program (DHS/USCG Level I, DoD ACAT I or equivalent), specifically shipbuilding acquisitions.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, excellent organizational skills, the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external customers, and the ability to work independently and take a proactive role.
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with Navy, USCG or DHS highly desired.
  • A degree in marine or mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with Navy or USCG shipboard systems preferred.
  • Experience with Auto-CAD preferred.
  • Familiarity with Condition Based Maintenance (i.e. lube oil and vibrational analysis).

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Work Location: Remote until November 2026 and then on-site three (3) Days - Glen Burnie, MD

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
