Mechanical Designer IV role in CommScope’s Data Center Business Unit, focused on concepting and designing next-generation optical interconnect and high-density connectivity solutions. You’ll lead mechanical design work end-to-end (CAD, analysis, prototyping, documentation) while partnering with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and product teams. Standout perk: comprehensive benefits plus incentive plan, 401(k), 11 paid holidays and paid vacation.
- Design next-gen optical interconnects
- Comprehensive medical/dental/vision benefits
- 401(k), incentive plan, paid holidays
Key Responsibilities
Lead conceptual design and development of innovative optical connectivity solutions focused in both the near-term and future generations. Generate renderings (KeyShot or otherwise), animations and images for technical presentations. Perform finite element modeling of latches and other structural mechanisms. Support fit analysis using Monte Carlo, statistical or worst-case methods. Collaborate with molding and manufacturing colleagues for design for manufacturing (DfM) and automation (DfA) optimization. Create functional prototypes via printing, SLA, or other technologies. Review inspection reports for component first article approval. Maintain design documentation and revision control. Generate IP for new design concepts.
