At Sharing Excess, the Inventory Coordinator is a key player in driving our mission forward. In this dynamic role, you’ll take charge of our daily inventory operations—keeping things running smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. From managing incoming inventory and ensuring flawless data entry to maintaining up-to-the-minute records and streamlining our inventory systems, you’ll work closely with a passionate team to improve processes, support cross-departmental collaboration, and help train new team members. Your work will directly support our mission by tracking food donations and distributions, assessing food quality, and assisting with proper food storage and timely distribution. Inventory Management: Efficiently manage incoming inventory and ensure accurate and timely data input into the system. Data Tracking: Measure impact by weighing and tracking all food donations in the Sharing Excess App to ensure proper allocations and deliveries. Take a mentorship role in overseeing day-to-day inventory operations and ensure high standards of performance and accuracy. Process Improvement: Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow, streamline inventory processes, and implement strategies to improve efficiency. Team Training & Mentoring: Assist in training and mentoring team members to maintain a high standard of performance and operational efficiency. Inventory Trends & Reporting: Monitor and analyze inventory trends, providing insights for decision-making and process improvements. Food Recall Monitoring: Monitor food recalls daily and maintain a recall log Document any relevant recalls and required actions, and escalate/coordinate promptly with the appropriate manager(s) to ensure safe handling and distribution. Allocation Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to meet demand, optimize resource utilization, and ensure inventory levels are balanced and aligned with needs. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless coordination and communication, ensuring that inventory needs align with program goals. Fleet Management Support: Collaborate with the Program Manager and Operations Manager to assist in operating in conjunction with truck schedules and fleet operation. Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, operating warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and being on your feet for extended periods while completing repetitive tasks. Manage Incoming Loads: Oversee and process incoming loads in the afternoons, ensuring that all data is accurately entered into the tracking app in a timely manner.
