Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care experience for a hospital-based travel assignment in Apple Valley, CA, requiring CA PT licensure and Epic proficiency.
Details
Acute care hospital setting with 212 staffed beds
Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (5x8 shifts)
Patient population includes geriatric, orthopedic, post-stroke, cardiac (CHF, CABG, MI, COPD), and surgical cases
Clinical focus areas include ER, ICU, med-surg, and orthopedics
Procedures and skills include gait training, therapeutic exercise (AROM/AAROM/PROM), transfers, assistive device training, pain assessment, vital signs, and discharge planning
Equipment used includes standard walkers, gait belts, crutches, hospital beds, and supplemental O2
Charting via Epic (experience required)
Free parking on-site
Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of acute care physical therapy experience required
Active CA PT license required (license required if applicable)
Current BLS certification required
Epic EMR experience required
Experience with orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, and geriatric patient populations preferred
Proficiency in gait training, therapeutic exercise, patient/family education, and home exercise program development
Ability to perform lifting and transfers as required by patient care needs
Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
SSN and DOB required for consideration

Local candidates are accepted; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a different pay rate
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; RTO requests made after submission or offer may be denied
Block scheduling may be considered at manager's discretion
Scrub color for PT staff not specified; RN staff wear navy blue
