Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, part of Mission Health, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Extern PRN to support our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care, assist with daily activities of living, obtain and record vital signs, monitor patient status, and promptly report changes in condition. You will help prepare patients for procedures, support safe patient transport, maintain clean and organized patient care areas, and adhere to all infection prevention and safety protocols. The Nurse Extern PRN collaborates closely with nurses, physicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered, high-quality care while demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and respect for patients and families.

As a PRN team member, you will pick up shifts based on unit needs, offering flexibility while gaining valuable hands-on clinical experience in a hospital environment. You will be exposed to emergency, outpatient, and specialized care settings, using advanced medical technology and evidence-based practices. Under RN guidance, you will reinforce and apply your nursing school knowledge, assist with documentation in the electronic medical record as appropriate to your role, and support quality and safety initiatives on the unit.
