REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager
PURPOSE: Perform functions to assure dimensional integrity of new and existing elastomeric parts, while maintaining a variety of related reports and records for both the company and customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review and analyze customer blueprints, dimensionals, and/or other drawings of customer components/parts.
- Set up and operate Micro-Vu and other measuring equipment required to perform dimensional inspection and develop reports.
- Set-up and perform dimensional inspection of customer supplied components; process and maintain initial sample inspection reports, PPAPs, and material certification requests.
- Prepare submission packets including capability studies, process flow diagrams, control plans, gauge repeatability, reliability studies, and failure mode effectiveness reports as required.
- Interface and maintain favorable relationships with customers. Work with customers on accurately measuring elastomeric parts to ensure they meet specifications.
- Evaluate SPC areas regarding statistics; perform capability studies and interpret histogram distribution.
- Measure products produced from new and revised molds to ensure they meet customer specifications.
- Audit and enter data regarding revision levels of active parts and prints.
- Work with functional areas of the plant
- Participate in continuous improvement by providing ideas and suggestions that would improve cost-effectiveness, enhance general working conditions, and ensure safe working conditions.
- Track the plant's VOC usage and generate reports.
- Maintain the Environmental permits and conduct routine reviews/audits.
- Perform other projects/duties as directed by your supervisor.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS OR CREDENTIALS:
- Two years of related experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Skilled at staying organized, multi-tasking, and planning workload.
- Great communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings.
- Drafting/CAD experience a plus
- Experience working for a manufacturer of elastomeric materials (preferred)
- Associate Degree (preferred)
