Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery team in San Antonio, TX. This role offers a comprehensive mix of outpatient clinic, inpatient care, and operating room first assist responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in neurosurgery or a related surgical specialty and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Provide outpatient clinic care including new patient evaluations and follow-up visits

    • Perform inpatient rounding, consults, and post-operative management

    • Serve as first assist in neurosurgical procedures as needed

    • Evaluate and manage patients with neurological and spinal conditions

    • Order and interpret diagnostic studies including imaging and labs

    • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery plans

    • Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams

    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

    Qualifications

    • Current Texas license as a Physician Assistant

    • National certification (NCCPA)

    • Previous neurosurgery or surgical experience preferred

    • Experience with first assist or willingness to obtain training

    • Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex patients

    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

    Schedule & Compensation

    • Full-time schedule with a mix of clinic, inpatient, and OR responsibilities

    • Call responsibilities may be required
