Job Summary
We are seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery team in San Antonio, TX. This role offers a comprehensive mix of outpatient clinic, inpatient care, and operating room first assist responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in neurosurgery or a related surgical specialty and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide outpatient clinic care including new patient evaluations and follow-up visits
Perform inpatient rounding, consults, and post-operative management
Serve as first assist in neurosurgical procedures as needed
Evaluate and manage patients with neurological and spinal conditions
Order and interpret diagnostic studies including imaging and labs
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery plans
Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
Qualifications
Current Texas license as a Physician Assistant
National certification (NCCPA)
Previous neurosurgery or surgical experience preferred
Experience with first assist or willingness to obtain training
Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex patients
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Call responsibilities may be required
