Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to inspire our children. The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality individual and group flute tuition to pupils, fostering enthusiasm, confidence and musical progression. The role will support the development of flute provision within the school and contribute to the wider life of the Music Department, enriching the school's musical culture through performance opportunities and collaborative activities.

What you will be doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality individual and small group flute lessons to pupils
  • Contribute to the Year 3 Instrumental Scheme through engaging group teaching
  • The Year 3 Instrumental Scheme takes place every Tuesday, 8:40am-9:25am (term time) - Applicants must be available at this time each wee
  • Support the development and growth of flute provision within the school
  • Prepare pupils for performances, assessments and musical progression
  • Contribute to concerts, ensembles and the wider musical life of the school
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff
  • Encourage enthusiasm, confidence and a lifelong interest in music
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Music and peripatetic team
  • Deliver individual flute lessons, with private tuition arranged and funded directly by parents

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in flute performance
  • Experience teaching flute, ideally to primary-aged pupils
  • Music qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)
  • Experience delivering both individual and group tuition
