In this role, you will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered rehabilitative care across our continuum of services. You will implement established treatment plans, guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, and assist in restoring mobility, strength, and independence following injury, surgery, or illness.
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Avera Health, you will actively participate in patient assessments by observing and reporting patient responses, documenting progress in the electronic medical record, and communicating changes to the Physical Therapist and care team. You will help educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and strategies to support long‑term functional goals. You will collaborate closely with therapists, nurses, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, evidence‑based care that reflects Avera’s values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship.
