Banner University Medical Group and the Division of General Internal Medicine, Palliative Medicine, and Geriatrics are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician

to join our growing academic palliative care program in Tucson, Arizona.

The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team model, working closely within the team with physicians, advanced practice providers, and social workers and collaborating with chaplains, case managers, community hospice, and other staff. The role is primarily focused on inpatient palliative care consultation at Banner University Medical Center Tucson and South Campuses providing high-quality palliative care for adult patients with serious illness.

This position includes a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona

consistent with credentials and experience. The physician will teach medical students, residents, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellows, participate in interdisciplinary education and rounds, contribute to hospital-based quality improvement initiatives, and help grow palliative care across the academic health system and broader community.

Schedule Details: Monday - Friday No weekends and no call

Primary Location: Banner University Medical Center Tucson 1625 N. Campbell Avenue, Tucson, AZ

Secondary Location: Banner University South Campus 2800 E. Ajo Way, Tucson, AZ

Position Details/Requirements: Board eligible or board certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine Primarily inpatient palliative care consultation, with opportunities for collaborative outpatient clinic participation and growth Knowledge of hospice, serious illness care, and community resources Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team Commitment to teaching and mentoring in an academic medical environment Interest in quality improvement, program development, curriculum development, or scholarly activity encouraged Experience preferred but open to new graduates from fellowship

About the Palliative Care Team: The Palliative Care Team is based at Banner University Medical Center Tucson, a robust academic medical center

and consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, and social workers. The team provides inpatient consultation for patients with serious illness across a broad range of specialized services including Neurology, Medical, Cardiac, and Surgical ICUs, Transplant, Oncology, and Advanced Heart Failure. The team also provides outpatient support and symptom management within the University of Arizona Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
