SSM Health is seeking a Board Certified General Orthopedic Surgeon to join and help expand orthopedic services in Shawnee, Oklahoma . This is an excellent opportunity to build a thriving practice in a physician-friendly community where providers are highly respected and well-supported .

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday with a flexible schedule
  • Five large OR's
  • OR time: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Call: Relatively light (approximately 7 days per month)
  • Practice mix: ~80% outpatient / 20% surgical
  • Estimated volume: 5–7 procedures per week while building
  • Clinic volume: Up to 20+ patients per day in clinic, a couple of days per week
  • No existing panel – ideal for a surgeon looking to build quickly
  • New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Eligible for Oklahoma medical licensure

Practice & Scope:

  • Broad general orthopedics with a wide variety of cases, including:
    • Fractures
    • Knees
    • Elbows
    • Emergency Department consults
    • Some joint replacement
  • Experience or interest in joint replacement and revisions is a plus
  • The current full-time surgeon is sports medicine fellowship trained
  • Join a growing service line with only one full-time orthopedic surgeon currently on staff

Facilities & Support:

  • Standalone orthopedic clinic located directly across the street from the hospital
  • 12 exam rooms
  • On-site X-ray
  • Strong SSM Health referral network
  • Two physical therapy clinics:
    • One on the main hospital campus
    • One located 3–4 miles away at another SSM outpatient clinic
