The Practice Assistant provides administrative support to the practice management teams of the Energy and Transactional Departments by handling essential administrative and operational duties to help achieve business goals for the Departments. The Practice Assistant will have access to high-level sensitive and confidential matters and must exercise exceptional discretion in handling such information. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide administrative support, including coordinating calendars and travel, check requests, expense reporting, meeting and event scheduling and coordination, and other administrative tasks as needed Assist in the preparation, maintenance and retention of practice-related documents including correspondence, meeting agendas, minutes, business plans, task lists, databases, budgets and expenses Assist with development, tracking and analysis of Department and Practice Group specific reporting, including but not limited to budgets, financials, timekeeper hours, Department and Practice Group personnel. Undertake research on a wide variety of topics (both internal to the firm and external). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to exercise sound independent judgment, tact and discretion involving sensitive and confidential matters is required. Demonstrates flexibility, initiative, and a positive attitude. Self-starter who is comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic environment. Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail, even when under pressure. Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent grammar, punctuation and proofreading skills and the ability to prepare clear, accurate reports and correspondence.. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. In-depth understanding of Microsoft Office suite preferred, particularly Excel. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum one (1) year of experience in an administrative support role. Law firm experience preferred.
