Process Quality Technician

Shift: Days (may be asked to occasionally work other shifts to troubleshoot issues)

Location

Winston-Salem, NC

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion all company safety programs and initiatives

  • Participate in safety observations and identify workplace hazards

  • Monitor production areas for safety and quality compliance

  • Conduct weekly training progress reviews with management

  • Support onboarding and development of new-to-job employees

  • Assess employee understanding of performance expectations

  • Perform on-the-floor quality inspections of products and processes

  • Partner with operators to address product and workmanship concerns

  • Conduct multiple daily audits of production equipment and work areas

  • Verify material condition, packaging, labeling, ticketing, and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing instructions and procedures

  • Support process improvements that increase efficiency and product quality

  • Work closely with Process Engineering to maintain process standards

  • Assist with implementation of operating procedures and process controls

  • Participate in commissioning new manufacturing equipment

  • Support upgrades to existing production equipment

  • Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective action activities

  • Assist with customer complaint investigations and quality improvement projects

  • Conduct practical task assessments for trained employees

  • Verify operational readiness and compliance with established standards

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical, manufacturing, or quality-related field preferred

  • ASQ certification or equivalent quality certification preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in flexible packaging manufacturing, quality auditing, machine operations, or process control

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to write reports, procedures, and business correspondence

  • Comfortable presenting information to employees, managers, and customers

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts in a manufacturing environment

  • Working knowledge of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions

  • Ability to interpret and utilize production and quality-related data

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the production floor

  • Regular interaction with manufacturing equipment and production processes

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
