Job Description

Join our team as a Welding Technician - QC and help ensure the highest quality standards in our welding operations. This role is ideal for skilled welders who enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and collaborating with both technical and operations teams. Located on our Piqua campus, this position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities to grow your welding expertise and make a real impact.

What You'll Do

• Perform welding evaluations and provide clear verbal and written feedback.

• Communicate observations effectively while welding and assessing weld performance.

• Evaluate products, identify defects, and determine root causes.

• Work confidently in all welding positions (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G).

• Operate across welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, MCAW, FCAW, and SAW.

• Work with Hobart Brothers product families to support continuous improvement.

• Apply knowledge of common welding codes (AWS, ASME, EN ISO, CE).

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders through clear communication and professionalism.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Completion of a 9-month HIWT welding program, vocational training, or equivalent in-house apprenticeship preferred.

• Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.

• Commitment to PPE usage and safe work practices.

• Ability to prepare base metal using industrial saws and grinders.

• Comfort working with oxy-fuel heating and cutting torches.

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and spend 7+ hours on your feet.

• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

• Strong time management and communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
