Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist role serves to support a healthy Quality Management System by acting as a process owner, subject matter expert, project manager, facilitator for the various subjects within Modular's Quality Management System.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Each day will present you with new challenges and opportunities to test and grow your skills. As a Quality Assurance Specialist with Modular, you'll be responsible for the following subjects below. These subjects have been identified because the responsibilities are directly connected to the Global Production and Quality organizational goals.

  • Support and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Execute and maintains ISO 9001 Compliance Activities
  • Perform document control and intranet maintenance
  • Support and execute both internal and external Audits
  • Support corrective and preventive actions originated internally and externally.
  • Execute root cause analysis investigations
  • Support Risk Management activities
  • Upholds organizational values
  • Support Quality Improvement Projects

Required Skills

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, quality or computer science. A combination of education and experience will be considered in place of a degree.
  • Experience
    • Quality Management System implementation and maintenance
    • 4 years minimum:
  • Utilizing various quality standards and directives
  • Experience interpreting and ensuring compliance to QMS requirements

Additional Information

  • Knowledge in reading and understanding drawings and requirement documents
  • Compliance awareness & continued education for applicable Standards, Directives
  • Effectively communicates in written and oral communication
  • Ethics, respect for others, integrity, initiative
  • Influence with and without authority
  • Ability to problem solve when roadblocks appear
  • Takes initiative independently or with others
  • Ability to collect and analyze data using various platforms
  • Organize and effectively manages time to complete tasks, action items and projects on time
  • Have flexibility/adaptability in evolving situations
  • Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize

Desired Skills

  • Experience in improvement projects (Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Training in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • ASQ CQE Certification
  • Quality Auditor Certification CQA or Internal audit certification
  • Advanced engineering degree is a plus
  • Involvement in the following:
    • DFEMA, PFMEA
    • Juhin Process
    • Kaizen
    • 5S
    • GEMBA
