Wieland is hiring a Quality Control Technician I. The Quality Control Technician I will be responsible for ensuring that the quality process is followed during production. Inspect products such as incoming material, in-process parts, and finished goods for conformance to specifications and assist with new product development. This role is located in Montpelier, OH and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $24.41 per hour

Schedule: Thursday - Sunday - Week 1, Friday - Sunday - Week 2; 6a-6p

Responsibilities

Quality Control Technician I

Responsibilities


  • Work safely and promote the safety of those working around you; help build a proactive safety culture.
  • Meet or exceed the quality expectations of the customer as defined by the Engineering and Quality organizations by following the quality process:
    • First Off / Last Off approval
    • Perform inspections across all stages of production
    • Final audit
    • Gage calibration and maintenance of equipment
    • Participate in root cause analysis
  • Meet or exceed the quality expectations of the customer by helping to define those expectations:
    • Conduct / Assist with capability studies
    • Conduct / Assist with Gauge R&R studies
    • Assist with PPAP's and PPAP documentation
  • Additional Accountabilities:
    • Read and interpret dimensional layouts when needed
    • Receiving inspection - dimensionally and visually verify the quality of incoming products
    • Data entry
    • Adhere to ISO 9001 and NSF standards
    • Process audits
    • Sorting product needed for shipment

Quality Control Technician I Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum 2-4 years in Quality control.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Keyence measuring systems (not required but recommended).
  • Experience using hand gages (micrometers, calipers and etc.).
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Basic SPC.
  • Willingness to help in other areas as needed.
  • Ability to read drawings.
  • Problem solving skills / critical thinker.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing manufacturing processes.
