Job Overview

Quality Assurance is responsible for supporting daily operations, ensuring quality standards are being met, and improving the manufacturing process by removing waste and change.

We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our 1st shift Quality Assurance Team. Responsibilities will include quality inspections across various production departments.

The Quality Inspector role involves detailed knowledge of product parts and processes, conducting visual and dimensional inspections to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. The position requires the use of specialized software for documentation, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and the operation of diagnostic tools to maintain product standards. Additionally, the Inspector is responsible for identifying and rejecting defective parts to ensure overall product integrity.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:

  • Performing in-process and final product acceptance based on AQL sampling which includes:
    • Verifying the correct hardware is installed in the correct location and/or orientation
    • Verifying specific demensions of products and product material
    • Comparing product with work orders and/or parts lists
  • Coordinating process improvement activities with work order; drawing changes with Mfg. Engineering and Operations as required.
  • Willing to assist or coordinate quality efforts in other areas as required.
  • Reject defective parts with a reject tag
  • Understanding the plant policies and environment as it pertains to the safety of employees, operation of equipment, handling of equipment, and materials.
  • Completing required Quality Assurance documents
  • Performing all other duties as assigned by the supervisor

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • High School Diploma or Equivillent (Required)
  • Prior Quality Inspector experience
  • Ability to learn various products, parts and production areas across the plant operations
  • Ability to understand how processing problems can affect part quality
  • Experience with SAP systems preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening (required)
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to operate various powertools as necessary
  • Ability to rework product when needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to do basic math functions
