Quality Inspector

Penn United is currently seeking a full-time Quality Inspector to work at our growing Carbide facility. The Quality Inspector will perform final inspection on finished products in our Carbide Lapping department, to ensure that shipped product fulfills all customer specifications and quality requirements.

Responsibilities


  • Work with manufacturing team leaders to achieve acceptable product that meets or exceeds customer quality standards
  • Perform thorough and repetitive visual inspections of materials and finished manufactured products
  • Utilize inspection tools such as micrometers, indicators, digital height gage and comparators
  • Identify and report discrepancies with standard
  • Maintain inspection logs and quality documents
  • Place all nonconforming product on hold
  • Assist in training manufacturing team to follow inspection instructions and in the use of inspection equipment
  • Maintain clean equipment and work area

Education/Experience:

Candidate must possess high school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic understanding of blueprint reading and inspection techniques is preferred, not necessary
  • Basic computer skills and capacity to learn quickly
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and deadlines, commitment to quality
  • Visual acuity (20/20 vision or corrective lenses) and endurance for routine, repetitive inspection tasks
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels
  • Able to work independently and cooperatively with teams
