Quality Inspector (swing shift) role supporting the Quality Manager at Shields Manufacturing (Precinmac), inspecting high-tolerance precision machined components and helping execute the Quality Management System. You’ll run and document dimensional/visual/functional inspections, support first articles and corrective actions, and coach quality discipline across the shop. Under general supervision, assist the Quality Manager in the execution of the Quality Management System at Shields Manufacturing with regards to product inspections, first article submissions, corrective and preventive actions, internal audits as well as customer and supplier communication and data submittals. Additionally, the inspector will provide inputs and coaching to continually improve the understanding and adherence to quality assurance disciplines across the company.

Schedule: Monday thru Thursday from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am (we provide 10% shift differential)
Salary range: $ 25 to $ 28 per hour.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:
- Perform, document and communicate results of product inspections, to include dimensional, visual and functional inspections of raw materials, detail parts, components and sub-assemblies, by utilizing:
- Precision hand-held measurement equipment
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Functional Test Equipment
- E2, Shop Operating System
- Customer on-line Portal
- Review acceptance criteria defined by Shields Manufacturing or by customer documents to insure appropriate inspection methods and to identify and document any drawing / specification errors.
Education/Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience serving as a quality assurance inspector in a production environment.
- Demonstrated skills identifying, measuring and managing product Key Characteristics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) guidelines and practices.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office (word, excel, and outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to demonstrate attention to detail in completing assignments and in communicating to internal and external representatives.
Work Setting
A combination of general office setting, with typical moderate noise levels in a temperature-controlled environment, and a production shop environment with machining and assembly operations.
