Metals USA is seeking a Quality Manager for our Horicon, WI location. Metals USA is a leading metals processor/distributor in North America, providing a wide range of carbon steel products and services. Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Oversee the Quality Management System to assure compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard
  • Schedule ISO quality audits and prepare facilities for success.
  • Manage the internal audit system
  • Manage all Quality System documentation
  • Manage calibration of all test equipment
  • Report monthly on quality-related metrics
  • Supervise internal corrective action system and respond to customer initiated correct action requests
  • Coordinate customer claims by determining merit, investigating root causes, authorizing disposition, and coordinating return of material and final disposition
  • Assist customers in product development and problem solving
  • Oversee reporting of relevant customer data including Reach, RoHS, Prop-65, Conflict Minerals, and USMCA (NAFTA).
  • Develop, formulate, and direct implementation of inspection procedures
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Production and Purchasing teams
  • Review new products and assist in development of customer specifications
  • Assist in process improvement/development projects
  • Collect and report key vendor metrics and performance evaluations
  • Assist in review and approval process for new suppliers
  • Communicate and review technical aspects of raw materials with appropriate personnel at producing mills
  • Evaluate process and product performance
  • Direct supervision of quality technicians at each location

  • A 4-year college degree is required.
  • Experience with ISO-9001:2015 Standards
  • Understanding of Lean Management Principles
  • Knowledge of base metal technology and experience in a production environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel, Access, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to work with customers, suppliers, and production personnel.
