SUMMARY: Ensures the quality and ISO compliance of products/processes and manages/coordinates the activities of employees engaged in the quality auditing of production or processing of goods. Establishes quality-control guidelines and testing procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Quality and ISO Compliance
- Ensure company's compliance to Quality & ISO standards.
- Represent the company in response to customer quality inquiries, surveys and audits.
- Cooperates with other top management personnel in formulating and establishing quality policies and quality goals.
- Coordinates functions and operations between departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
- Visits and confers with suppliers to assure supply chain quality.
- Product Testing and Verification
- Ensures that VPC products (new and existing) are properly verified to meet performance expectations.
- Visits and confers with customers to troubleshoot and solve quality issues.
- Manage QA testing lab equipment and testing task list.
- Communicates problems, significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards (Rudimentary understanding- training)
- Continuous Improvement
- Leads team in proactively improving quality systems and implementing quality improvements to meet company's quality goals (i.e. scrap $'s and PPM).
- Champions the use of a disciplined approach to problem solving (8-D's, MBF's).
- Drive SPC data collection and analysis for capability improvement.
- Improve company's delivery performance, efficiency, and throughput through the utilization of Lean Principles (Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, and Product Flow).
- Participate in QOS process to improve costs.
- Champion the development of understanding QOS at all levels.
- Vendor Relations
- Communicates problems, significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
- Application of SPC software
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises 4 employees within the Quality department.
- Indirectly supervises 4 employees within the Quality department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Engineering or technical field, and/or five to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite, internet, email, manufacturing software, database software
- Experience with Net-Insepct preferred
