What you will be doing: Directly supervises the recreation aides. Responsible for the management of well-rounded recreation, avocation programs, and the Student Government Association (SGA) in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions:

* Plan, coordinate and supervise the administrative and programmatic activities of the department Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance Assist with the development of the departmental budget; monitor and control

expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizations * Assist with the development and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting recreation and student government; coordinate with other departments to promote center objectives * Regularly assess and audit department for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reports Regularly inspect facility; maintain quality standards Oversee operation of all recreational facilities and programs; ensure proper

health and sanitation standards are maintained * Develop and distribute weekly, monthly and annual recreational and avocational plans and schedules of activities * Develop physical fitness, recreational and social activities to comply with and support overall goals for student development and the HEALS program. Assist with the development of curricula * Develop and maintain personnel shift schedules for programmatic coverage seven days a week * Establish and maintain linkages with community resources providing recreational opportunities for students * Coordinate recreation, avocation, and social activities with other centers in the region * Log responsible activities into the MTC Student App and ensure timely responses to student requests to register * Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers Participate in student employability programs and activities Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate

behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions * Maintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

* Post-secondary degree and three years’ experience working with youth and young adults, one of which should be in a supervisory capacity * Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required * Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
