Registered Nurse RN Medical Surgical Night Shift Rotation NHRMC

Novant Health is seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical unit at NHRMC on a night shift rotation. As a key member of the Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to adult patients with a variety of medical and post-surgical conditions, helping to advance Novant Health’s mission of improving health through personalized, safe, and compassionate care.

In this role, you will provide direct bedside care during night shifts, performing comprehensive and focused assessments, monitoring vital signs and telemetry as applicable, and recognizing early changes in patient status. You will safely administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments in accordance with provider orders and established clinical standards. You will coordinate and implement individualized plans of care, collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, case management, therapy services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.

Using advanced technology and the organization’s electronic medical record, you will document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner. You will support safe transitions of care by providing thorough shift handoffs, participating in discharge planning, and educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, procedures, and follow-up needs. Your commitment to infection prevention, fall reduction strategies, and adherence to safety protocols will help maintain a secure and healing environment for all.
