Job Summary and Qualifications

The NICU Registered Respiratory Therapist delivers professional nursing care to all patients in NICU. Performs assessment and acuity assignment; follows standard of care utilizing Nursing Process in delivery of care; maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions. Daily assignment of an RN may include supervision of other nursing personnel and/or students. Function as a preceptor and ability to function as a charge nurse. The employee performs all services as they may relate to patient care/treatment with consideration for age/condition of patient.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP)
  • Associate Degree
  • 1+ Year as an RRT in NICU setting Required
